Congratulations to Dr. Martin Gleave on his recent BC Innovation Council Award. Dr. Gleave is the Liber Ero BC Leadership Chair in Prostate Cancer Research and Director of the Prostate Centre at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH). He won the Council’s 2007 “Frontiers in Research” Award, which honours “an individual or small team whose innovative research contributions have led to major new advances in scientific or technological knowledge.” The award takes into account the commercial or social potential of the research as well as its scientific merit, duration and uniqueness. In the citation, Dr. Gleave is described as a “skilled surgeon, talented scientist, teacher and critical thinker who has made significant contributions to medical science.”
